“WHY THE HELL IS ALL THE COOL SH!T AT LEAST FORTY MINUTES AWAY??!?!?”

Is a question that has plagued me since I got here to Sweetwater. No matter where you are, when you live near FIU’s main campus all the “trendy” spots that make Miami, well, Miami- are most often in Brickell, Wynwood,  South Beach, Coral Gables, everywhere else but here. Not only is this annoying, but it feels like a slap in the face to the good people of Sweetwater and the over 54,000 students that call FIU and its surrounding area home.

I am frustrated that this is the way that things are, and this is how my family in Sweetwater is being treated. So instead of waiting for some sister location of a south beach staple to make its way here… I am going to do it myself, and make  a sandwich spot so good it will make those suits over in south beach come crawling here.

Hello! My name is Taylan Nightingale, and this has been a passion project of mine for a while! While I am continuing to make my dream a reality in the background, I cannot sit idly in the face of adversity. As we speak, families are deeply challenged by the struggle to stretch SNAP benefits and keep food on the table during one of the most economically demanding seasons of the year. I believe that regardless of your political affiliation, religious beliefs, gender, race, etc.  that no one should go hungry. So in an effort to do my part, 100% of the profits generated from this December 5th pop up go towards one of Miami-Dade's community fridges hosted by Buddy Systems Miami. While I don't expect you to donate an arm and a leg, the $15 you spend on this meal deal truly goes a long way. Even if you're not in a position to pay for it yourself, encourage others to:
